TRANSPORT
Transport contributes significantly to the economy and is a competitive force in business. It is the activity that physically connects the business with its supply chain partners, such as suppliers and customers, and greatly influences customer satisfaction with the company.
Transportation is among the most important economic activities for a business. By moving goods from where they originate to where they are needed, transportation provides the essential service of connecting a company to its suppliers and customers. It is an essential activity in the logistics function, supporting the economic utilities of place and time. The useful device is based on the fact that the customers have the product if they ask for it. Time utility suggests that customers have access to the product when they demand it. Working closely with inventory planners, transportation professionals try to ensure that the business has product available, where and when customers are looking for it.
At time. In safety.
Shipping is sometimes to blame for a company’s inability to serve its customers properly. Late deliveries can be the source of problems and complaints. Products could also be damaged in transit, and warehouse workers could load the wrong items into a shipping location. Such shipments can also compromise customers, leading to dissatisfaction and the decision to buy from a competitor.
However, when a company consistently makes complete and undamaged deliveries on time, as INNOVATIVE LOGISTIC does, it can instill confidence in customers and be a sure win for the company.
A mutual gain.
Always Aside from its service ramifications, shipping can also represent a substantial cost to the business. The cost of shipping can sometimes determine whether a customer transaction results in a profit or a loss for the business, depending on the expense incurred in providing shipping for a customer’s order. Faster modes of transport generally cost more than slower modes. So, although shipping an overseas order by air is much faster than shipping by ship, it can cost up to 20 times more. Such a cost difference may not justify using the faster mode of freight. Supply chain managers must therefore carefully consider the cost of freight when determining whether to move product and how to move product in the most economical manner.
